The Teaching of Language
English at Lubbins Park Primary Academy
This half term has been extremely busy for all year groups with writing being exciting and creative. Classes have shown that they can produce lengthy and sustained pieces of writing around a theme or concept, such as story writing about plant life cycles to show the scientific knowledge acquired. Application of these ideas means that the children of LPPA are applying knowledge that’s taught. In the curriculum corridors, our displays highlight the expectations and outstanding work that has been produced in writing. We are creative writers at LPPA and we want to celebrate this.
MFL at Lubbins Park Primary Academy
This term we have all been working hard in KS2 on developing our listening, reading and writing of French. Each class has a chosen topic to focus their French language skills on. Key language is listened to repeated and transferred as a skill in to the written word. Year 3 have learnt about the history of Great Britain from the Stone Age all the way to the Romans. Year 5 have linked their French topic to their WW2 topic. When the children practise these taught skills, they can be assessed against the different objectives that cover that unit.
